Beside keeping constant the development paradigm and freeing it from numerous if not endless details, applications developed in eDeveloper are extremely scalable and can be migrated to more powerful combinations of the above while retaining significant when not major portions of the Investment that went into such an application until a migration became justified and necessary.
Using eDeveloper and its associated RADD capabilities is ultimately aimed at achieving business competitive edge advantage in being able to realize and benefit from a Corporate Software Solution that is unique and optimal in supporting the specific activities of an organization at a global development cost that is a fraction of what it would have to be without any use of eDeveloper.

RADD stands for 'Rapid Application Development and Deployment'. Without getting to too much details again, we will just mention that many things can be developed using eDeveloper in a fraction of the time that it would take with most popular and commonly used development environments and associated languages available on the market today.

In 2006, Magic Software was celebrating its 20th anniversary. As such, it is difficult to summarize the results of twenty (20) years of R&D that went into this product. However, there are two generic characteristics that have been at the base of what eDeveloper was about and is still today. Originally, these two characteristics were quite unique to Magic. Today, others claim and actually are also providing features in the same areas. However, few, if any, can claim to have steadily evolved with regards to both characteristics below for the last 20 years.

As a reference, we will mention that there used to be an international software developers’ competition, sponsored by Droege Computing. It was held annually for several years in Durham, North Carolina, US. Hundreds of independent software developers from across the United States and around the world came to compete each year equipped with any combination of tools and existing modules or applications of their choice.
The objective of the competition was to create a real-world application, or come as close as possible, using specifications provided the day of the competition. The developers had approximately two (2) days to complete their work. The results were judged according to principles identified as pertinent to the needs for Corporate Software Applications at the time.
Independent software developers using eDeveloper won the competition five (5) years in a row. The final year of the competition (1997), developers using Magic, known as 'Magicians' took all five top places in the competition. After that, the competition was cancelled, according to the organizers, because other software tool programmers were no longer willing to participate.

eDeveloper. What is this?

EDeveloper, also called ‘Magic’ because that is how it was called till the beginning of this millennium, can be shortly specified as an ‘Application Software Development Platform’.

It is owned and developed by MagicSoftware.

In 2006, Magic Software was celebrating its 20th anniversary. As such, it is difficult to summarize the results of twenty (20) years of R&D that went into this product. However, there are two generic characteristics that have been at the base of what eDeveloper has been about till today. Originally, these two characteristics were quite unique to Magic. Today, others claim and actually are also providing features in the same areas. However, few, if any, can claim to have steadily evolved with regards to these for the last 20 years.

These are:

Open Architecture:

‘Open Architecture’, also called ‘Inter-Operability’, also called ‘Hardware Independence’ is an approach and functionality set that is aimed at dissociating the actual Application Development efforts from the physical and technical details of the underlying infrastructure such as the Platform, the Operating and Networking system, the Communication layer and the Database.

Without getting to too much details at this point, It is sufficient to say that most, if not all people who got to realize the capabilities and flexibility of eDeveloper regarding Open Architecture got to be very impressed.

Today, eDeveloper is known to be deployable on the following architectural elements:

The Business Advantages of Open architecture are often under estimated or taken for granted with regards to environments that are in fact limited when not proprietary to this regard.

Beside keeping constant the development paradigm and freeing it from numerous if not endless details, applications developed in eDeveloper are extremely scalable and can be migrated to more powerful combinations of the above while retaining significant when not major portions of the Investment that went into such an application until a migration became justified and necessary.

RADD:

RADD stands for Rapid Application Development and Deployment. Without getting to too much details again, we will just mention that many things can be developed using eDeveloper in a fraction of the time that it would take with most popular and commonly used development environments and associated languages available on the market today.
